RAIPUR: BJP president Amit Shah held a roadshow along with the CM Raman Singh on Saturday at his home turf Rajnandgaon on the last day of the poll campaign for the first phase of Chattisgarh elections.

Shah was accorded a rousing reception by party leaders, workers and the people during the roadshow that continued for nearly 45 minutes passing through the lanes of the city.

"You have to decide on November 12 whether you want corrupt oppressive regime of Congress party that involves in scams or the BJP which remains committed for development", he said during the roadshow and further added that the Congress that ruled from Parliament to Panchayat for 55 years couldn't take the country on the route of growth and progress.

On Friday the Congress president Rahul Gandhi held a roadshow with the senior party leaders in Rajnandgaon. "Under the leadership of Raman Singh, we are taking a pledge to form the government for the fourth consecutive term. So your responsibility also gets doubled. The legislator from Rajnandgaon will be the chief minister so Dr Raman Singh should win with the maximum ever lead", he said.

He asked his party leaders and cadres to undertake a door-to-door visit to carry the message of Modi-Raman during the next 48 hours and ensure over 80 per cent of voter-turnout. He eulogised the achievements of the Modi-led NDA and the Raman Singh government and cited the Congress as the party that engages in the making of CDs.

"The Congress don't have leaders, policies or directions", Shah stated. Earlier in the day the BJP chief along with the chief minister released the party manifesto - Sankalp Patra in Raipur.
