SHIVAMOGGA: From the time of announcement of Shivamogga parliamentary by-election, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate B Y Raghavendra has been traversing the constituency to reach out to voters to convince them to vote for him.

After the decision by the party, Raghavendra flagged off his election campaigning at three different phases here. A talk with booth-level workers followed a formal meeting with them to implement instructions given by the party leaders. His election campaigning has been intensifying with every passing day.
Raghavendra, dressed in a track suit, met morning joggers and walkers in the APMC yard. Along with his brother Vijayendra and other party workers he appealed to them to vote for him.

Some morning walkers spoke with the candidate for over 10 minutes during which they shared their views about B S Yeddyurappa, development works taken up in the district during the BJP regime and issues related to the Central government. They had tea together. Raghavendra told them that the by-election had become inevitable as it was the decision of Election Commission.

Raghavendra told ‘The New Indian Express’ that on many occasions, he had approached morning joggers and walkers whenever he was in the Shivamogga headquarter.

After returning from the morning campaigning, Raghavendra was ready for the next level of campaigning, but not before spending time with family. He offered puja to Lord Shiva and Sri Raghavendra Swamy before his breakfast.

By the time he came out of his house, Raghavendra had a discussion with few a office-bearers of the district BJP and went through the day’s programme. He also held a quick in-house meeting with Tamil Sangha leaders and appealed to them to vote for the BJP on November 3. He stressed on the need to go to a polling booth and exercise their franchise.

He then went to the Vasavi Vidyalaya grounds where he met office-bearers and party workers of Channabasaveshwara and Shivappa Nayak Shakti kendras.
