VISAKHAPATNAM: YSRCP national general secretary Vijay Sai Reddy on Tuesday called upon supporters of party and party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Telangana not to vote for TDP candidates at any cost wherever they contest. He also appealed to the party supporters to cast their votes according to their conscience in the rest of the seats. The YSRC is not contesting the Telangana Assembly elections to be held on December 7.

He said there is no chance of the TRS  contesting in the elections in AP. He, however, said that it was not right on the part of the TRS to announce that it would intervene in AP  politics.Vijay Sai Reddy asserted that the TDP is its main rival in the 2019 elections. “We don’t consider Jana Sena as a major party in AP,” he told reporters here on Tuesday.

“The Jana Sena, which initially criticised the TDP, is now targeting the YSRCP and it showed the understanding between the two  parties. The people would teach a fitting lesson to both Jana Sena and TDP,” he  said.

Accusing the BJP of adopting a soft stand towards TDP, Vijay Sai said the BJP-led government at the Centre was not acting against the Chandrababu Naidu government on charges of corruption. He categorically stated the YSRCP would support the party which grants SCS to AP. “However, the YSRCP don’t believe  in the promise made by Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi regarding SCS,” he clarified.

Replying to a query on the alleged neglect of SC, ST leaders in the party, he claimed only YSRCP was giving space to SC and ST leaders. “The party is striving to protect the rights of Dalits and downtrodden,” he said.He also accused the TDP of belittling e the attack on Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy  by describing it as ‘kodi-katti’ drama.
