HYDERABAD: Poll punters are having a busy season in Telangana, thanks to exit polls that have further fuelled speculation. Sources say that former parliamentarian Lagadapati Rajgopal’ survey, which added a missing perspective of Congress victory, has spiced up the game. While TRS coming to power has more evens, People’s Front also has an edge on evens.

When it comes to individual candidates, stakes are high on Nandamuri Suhasini from Kukatpally, K Jana Reddy from Nagarjuna Sagar, senior congress leader T Jeevan Reddy from Jagtial, TPCC working president A Revanth Reddy from Kodangal and Mohd Shabbir Ali from Kamareddy.

Since Congress candidate from Gajwel, V Pratap Reddy is giving a tough fight to K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is aiming for a straight win as an MLA, bets are on the winning margin. In 2014, Rao defeated Pratap Reddy with a margin of 19,366 votes. This time, there are several bets over Rao winning with a less margin.

Evens for TRS Candidate from Medak, Padma Devender Reddy, are also in high demand, as she is likely to become the first woman minister in Telangana if she wins. The trend is also seen in northern districts of the State, which has good number of NRIs. TRS MP B Vinod Kumar had urged people not to waste money betting on polls as TRS was sure to come back to power.

Former Rajyasabha MP from AP KVP Ramachandra Rao, meanwhile, alleged that the owner of a media house had pumped in crores of rupees for evens on a particular community winning majority. This further spiked speculations.
