Victory in Telangana will be our birthday gift to Sonia Gandhi: Uttam Kumar Reddy

Speaking during the birthday celebrations of Sonia Gandhi, Uttam said that it was because of Sonia Gandhi that the six-decade-long dream of Telangana was fulfilled.

HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said that increase in poll percentage points to the victory of Congress-led People’s Front. Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Uttam said that by winning in Telangana Assembly polls, Congress would present a birthday gift to United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi. 

Speaking during the birthday celebrations of Sonia Gandhi, Uttam said that it was because of Sonia Gandhi that the six-decade-long dream of Telangana was fulfilled. 

He said that by voting out draconian Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) rule and voting for People’s Front, Telangana people would give Sonia Gandhi her birthday gift. Speaking at another forum, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Ponnam Prabhakar said that KTR might have gone out of his mind to claim that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would win 100 seats or is sure of tampering EVMs. 

Count VVPATs along with EVMs, demands Dasoju 

Meanwhile, Khairatabad Congress candidate Dasoju Sravan demanded to count even the VVPAT slips along with EVMs at all the polling booths in Khairatabad constituency.

‘Will quit politics if  I lose in Kodangal’

TPCC working president A Revanth Reddy demanded CEO Rajat Kumar to take action on KCR for having votes in two constituencies  — Siddipet & Gajwel, exposing KCR's name in the voters lists at two places, before media on Sunday.  “Votes of those who raised their voice against TRS government’sfailures havee been removed.

The CEO also sought apologies for not providing the voting right to about 20 lakh voters,” said Revanth. “KTR has been saying that all top leaders of Congress will lose. He challenged to quit politics if he is unable to defeat me. I’ll quit politics if I lose in Kodangal. Does KTR have the guts to stand by his word & quit politics if I win in Kodangal?” asked Revanth.
