Telangana elections: Congress finalises names for 74 seats, list to be out tomorrow

HYDERABAD: Ending the suspense on its candidates and sharing of seats with allies in Telangana, the Congress has finalised the list of candidates for 74 constituencies and will announce the same on November 10. AICC’s  Central Election Committee met under the supervision of Sonia Gandhi at her residence in Delhi on Thursday. The meeting has decided to allot 14 seats to TDP, 8 to TJS, 3 to CPI and may allot one seat to Telangana Inti Party, while it will contest in about 93 seats.

This was informed by party’s in-charge for Telangana RC  Khuntia in Delhi after the meeting. The candidates for the remaining seats will be decided after discussing with Rahul Gandhi on Sunday or Monday.

Meanwhile TTDP president L Ramana, senior leader Ravula  Chandrasekhar Reddy met TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in  Amaravati to discuss the selection of candidates. “As Congress has finalised seat- sharing, we have discussed with Naidu about our candidates. We will finalise TDP contestants in the next two days,” Ramana said.
