SIDDIPET: “The Congress party is like a patchwork quilt, as fragmented as they come. Ahead of elections in State, the party’s leaders are busy fighting for tickets in Delhi. How can these people rule Telangana?” questioned caretaker minister Harish Rao. The TRS leader was speaking at the Mudiraj Atmiya Sammelanam held in Siddipet on Friday. “Rahul Gandhi and Chandrababu Naidu, sitting in Delhi and Amaravati respectively, is going to decide which candidate will contest from which constituency in Telangana,” criticised Rao.

Claiming that TRS had implemented various development and welfare programmes in the last four and a half years, Harish Rao stated that the welfare of the people is a priority to the TRS government. Further directing his criticism on the BJP-led Central government for increased prices of petrol, cooking gas and other goods, he added that the middle class has been suffering ever since the BJP came to power.

Caretaker Minister Etela Rajender, who was also present at the meeting, claimed that people were conspiring to hurt Harish Rao with their comments. He further added to Rao’s criticisms against Congress, claiming that both the TDP and Congress parties have done nothing for the welfare of Telangana’s citizens in the last 56 years. “TDP has the history of ordering police to open fire on people who were merely demanding electricity. And today, Congress is joining hands with such a party,” alleged Etela Rajender.
