Caretaker Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday said he would go on a self-imposed political exile if TRS failed to win the Assembly polls. Daring other leaders to follow suit, he said: “Can Congress State president Uttam Kumar Reddy or anyone else take up the challenge?” Highlights of what the leader said at Press Club

People’s verdict
I consider this election a referendum on the TRS administration. The people will judge if we have done well or not. We will register an unusual victory. You may consider this self-confidence or egotism, but the people have made up their mind. All of them will vote in favour of TRS

‘This Chandrudu doesn’t reflect light’
TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is an opportunistic person. Naidu seems to have joined hands with all parties except the YSRC. Sooner or later, he’ll team up with Jagan Mohan Reddy’s outfit too. He’s the moon that does not reflect any light

Who’s an ideal CM?
It is not the duty of the chief minister to issue ration cards to individuals at his office. If people make a beeline to his office for petty works, it will leave him little time for pressing issues. The duty of the CM is to run the State smoothly with efficient planning and action

Dharna Chowk
We welcome the High Court’s interim order permitting protests at Dharna Chowk. The TRS is strongly against leaving no room for dissent.

Defection rumours scotched
Nonsensical talk from a worthless leader like Revanth Reddy that two TRS MPs will join the Congress does not even deserve a response

Ink party’s priorities
We have laid a strong foundation for the irrigation and agriculture sectors while in power... If voted to power again, our focus will be on the education and health sectors. We tweaked the 2BHK housing scheme to provide money to landowners to construct houses

Unemployment
We have adopted a three-pronged strategy. Filling government job vacancies, creating self-employment opportunities and attracting investments in the private sector will create jobs. In the last four years, the private sector has created 8 lakh jobs in 8,000 industries. The Finance Department is working on filling 1.09 lakh job vacancies. As many as 38,000 have got the jobs already.

Mission Bhagiratha
Of the total 23,968 beneficiary habitations, 23,805 have so far been given water. Just 163 more are yet to be touched by the project. Work will be completed by the time the people go to poll.

‘I am not afraid of any political leader’
Caretaker IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday reiterated his decision to go on a self-imposed political exile if Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) failed to emerge victorious in the Assembly polls. He also said that he was scared of no one and was not afraid of any leader, be it PM Narendra Modi or Congress’ Rahul Gandhi or even God himself
