KHAMMAM: Situated on the Andhra-Telangana border the reserved SC constituency, Sattupalli has become a prestige issue this election season. With a majority population of Andhra origin, Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu is expected to campaign for the TDP candidate, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah. On the other hand, TRS supremo and Telangana's caretaker CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is backing Pedamarthi Ravi, an active participant of the Telangana movement.

TDP's Veeraiah is looking at a hat-trick in the constituency after he chalked out two electoral victories from the TDP ticket. Meanwhile, Ravi is going to try his luck for the second time in Sattupalli. In the 2014 polls, Veeraiah defeated Ravi and is confident of the work he has done during his MLA-stint and hopes to continue the winning streak.

TRS chief has entrusted the responsibility of winning Sattupalli in the hands of former-minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and District Cooperative Central Bank chairman Muvva Vijayababu who is a native of Sattupalli and enjoys good relations with the residents. However, Veeraiah has been campaigning with the local leaders and Naidu's presence is expected to work in his favour.

Speaking to Express DCCB Chairman and TRS campaign in-charge Muvva Vijaya Babu said," We are trying to reach out to every voter and explain them about the welfare schemes brought by the TRS government''. He further said he had covered 60 per cent of villages and will complete the remaining in the next few days. He expressed confidence that the party would win with a huge majority.
