HYDERABAD: The recent death of a Hindu priest in Warangal is set to be the ‘connect point’ for the RSS associated organisations like Bajrangdal and VHP to influence voters to vote for the BJP.

The point of contestation for right-wing organisations is to paint that ‘dharma is in danger’ by referring to death of priest. “The priest’s death has impacted our community at large. We have called for a district-wide bandh. We will go to the people with that example and get them to vote for that political party which will protect dharma,” said M Subash Chander, State convenor, Bajrangdal. A long list of right wingers are set to be a crucial vote bank for the BJP party in the elections. Expectations are running high for the RSS sister organisations that BJP would win with new poll point.

Interestingly, their role will become all the way more prominent considering that the BJP is going to contest a majority of the seats, barring which will be contested by its alliance partner Telangana Inti Party (TIP).

“Besides the five MLAs who won from BJP, in seven other constituencies we have lost a close battle. And, owing to an alliance with the BJP, we didn’t contest in few more,” Kailash Sajjan, media convenor of VHP said.

The ‘dharma rakshaks’ (protectors of justice) are spread across the State. “Our members will be trained to protect dharma. That motive will instigate them to vote for such a party that will protect Hindu religion,” said M Subash Chander.
