World's first Sanskrit 3D movie wins hearts at International Film Festival of India

The movie blends tradition and modernity by taking the audience through the world of Koodiyattam, 2000-year-old dance form of Kerala.

Anurakthi, the world's first Sanskrit 3D film, directed by Asokan PK wins hearts of filmgoers at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2017.

The 80-minute film, shot on a budget of about ₹28 lakh will release in India by February 2018.According to a report by the Financial Express, the movie narrates the story of 'Vasudha',  a Punjabi dancer, who comes to Kerala to learn Koodiyattam from a practitioner called Paramesharwan Chakkiar.

The story takes a turn with the blooming of romance between Vasudha and  Paramesharwan Chakkiar's son.The film even draws incidents of Vasudha's lover doubting her on her close relationship with his father.

The film gala, started on November 20th by paying tributes to industry veterans who passed away this year. A special section in the ceremony was dedicated to actors Om Puri, Vinod Khanna, Tom Alter, Reema Lagoo, Jayalalithaa, Shakila and directors Kundan Shah and Abdul Majid.

The Bollywood actor Salman Khan Salman Khan will bring down the curtains on the 48th edition of the festival.Talking about the festival, the star said, "The Festival has a fantastic line-up this year and I look forward to attending the closing ceremony and meeting some of the best names in cinema from across the world."
