LONDON: Jude Law, who was initially offered the role of Clark Kent in Bryan Singer's ‘Superman Returns,' has recently revealed that he turned it down because of the costume.
During his appearance on ‘The Late Show,’ the 43-year-old actor said, “So I was approached and at the time I don't know, I just, it didn't float my boat, you know, like I just really didn't want to go there. First of all, I'm an Englishman and I felt like, I don't know, it just didn't seem to fit and I just didn't fancy it,” reports the Guardian.
Adding on to this, the ‘Black Sea’ star said that he wore the suit for two minutes and looked in the mirror, but suddenly got up realizing that this picture would be on the posters all over the world and felt like "no way" and removed it.
“I'm Superman. I stood there and then I had this picture of me in that costume on posters all over the world and I was like 'no way' and I unzipped it,” he said.
The iconic role eventually went to Brandon Routh.
Law, who is known for his work in flick like ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ and ‘The Holiday’ appeared on the talk show to promote his upcoming movie ‘Genius.’
