NEW DELHI: French DJ David Guetta will keep his date with fans in Delhi as the police today gave permission for his performance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here tomorrow. While the organisers had said that the programme in Delhi is on schedule, the police had not given its nod and the permission status was in limbo till today afternoon.

However, Delhi Police finally gave permission for the concert this evening. The Delhi Police nod came hours after Guetta's Mumbai concert, which was initially scheduled for Friday, was rescheduled for tomorrow following a nod from the authorities.

The 49-year-old Grammy-award winning music star will now perform in Mumbai and Delhi on the same day (January 15). His Mumbai show will be held in the afternoon, while his event in the national capital is set for the evening tomorrow. Sunburn CEO Karan Singh had yesterday said,

"The David Guetta Sunburn Area show in New Delhi on January 15 and Hyderabad on January 14 will happen as originally planned. The venue for New Delhi is Jawaharhal Nehru Stadium while the venue for Hyderabad is Hitex Exhibition Center."

The Mumbai concert was earlier supposed to take place at Mahalaxmi Racecourse but the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) denied permission. It was then shifted to Reliance Jio Garden but had failed to get clearance from Mumbai Police.

In Bengaluru, Guetta was scheduled to headline a special gig on Thursday, kickstarting his four-city tour to Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi. However, it was cancelled with organisers and authorities citing conflicting reasons.
