LOS ANGELES: Ben Affleck is set to collaborate with Gavin O'Connor for a sports drama 'The Has-Been'. The 45-year-old actor will be seen essaying the role of a former basketball star who succumbs to substance abuse after he loses his wife, Deadline reported.

In an offer to save his life, he spots a possible path to redemption by becoming the coach of a disparate, ethnically mixed high school basketball team at his old high school.

The movie will be produced by Affleck, Jennifer Todd, Mark Ciardi and Gordon Grey with O’Connor who previously directed Affleck in 2016's 'The Accountant'  also expected to be involved as a producer along with the writer. Warner Bros is trying to seal the deal on a script by Brad Ingelsby.
