'Avengers: Endgame' sets record, passes 'Avatar' to become highest-grossing film at world box office

It was just about time that 'Avengers: Endgame,' sets another groundbreaking record.

This time it has done what no other movie could over the past decade. Avengers: Endgame has surpassed James Cameron directed 2009 film 'Avatar', to become the highest-grossing movie of all time at the world box office.

Marvel Studios officially announced that Avengers: Endgame is the new ruler of the box office at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Disney Studios Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Alan Horn said in a statement, "A huge congratulations to the Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios teams, and thank you to the fans around the world who lifted Avengers: Endgame to these historic heights."

Avatar had been the highest-grossing film of all time since 2009, where it raked in a worldwide gross of USD 2.78 billion and became the first movie to make over two billion dollars at the box office. Avatar stole the top spot away from Titanic, which was the highest-grossing film for twelve years before then.

James Cameron's Avatar 2, which is scheduled to release on December 17, 2021, might give Disney another chance to beat Avengers: Endgame in the much-awaited round 2.

On 26th April 2019 Avengers Endgame, the epic conclusion to a decade worth of Marvelous storytelling was released. It is the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which revolved around the after-effects of Thanos's snap and how the remaining Avengers vow to bring back their fallen.

While the conclusion brought down tears down of most of the viewer's eye, this news surely would bring cheers.
