After her Bollywood debut in Jism 2 last year, Sunny Leone hopes to break the stereotype that she is not just eye candy and but can carry a role on her shoulders as well.
The adult entertainer who was known for her raunchy acts in America, hopes to break this image with her next outing – Kaizaad Gustaad’s Jackpot opposite Sachiin Joshi and Naseeruddin Shah.
“I think one of the biggest misconceptions people have is that I still make adult movies in America which I haven’t, ever since I came on Bigg Boss. So I’m trying to break out of the stereotype of what people think I am,” stated the 32-year-old actress, adding, “Right now in Bollywood, I’m making movies; this is my love and passion. This is what I want to do.”
Though critics weren’t too hard on her, neither were they favourable and Sunny’s first outing in Bollywood wasn’t a raging success. Unfazed, she’s hoping that this time around, she’ll elicit a better response from the audience.
“Jackpot is my second movie. I really hope that people appreciate my film and see that I have done a better job than my first movie. My personal goal is that people say that yes Sunny you did better job in this movie,” she shared.
Talking about her role in the movie, she says, “I’m playing a casino manager who has an alliance with Sachiin’s character as well as the boss, played by Naseeruddin Shah. I help facilitate the things that help with a con being carried out.”
Jackpot will also feature her husband Daniel Weber in a cameo, his introduction to Bollywood. Ask her if she gave him a head’s up about how to fit the screen, Sunny said, “My husband is an adult entertainer too. He doesn’t need any tips from me. He was amazing in the movie. This is going be such a treat to see the two of us together, so I’m really excited.”
While in her debut she shared screen time with Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda, Sunny this time got to rub shoulders with the very versatile Naseeruddin Shah. Talking about the experience, she said, “The film has been a learning experience. I’m a lot more comfortable in front of the camera since my first movie.”
Jackpot hits theatres on December 13.
