I Have One Chance to Get it Right: Priyanka Chopra

As a frontline Bollywood celeb, Priyanka Chopra may have had a very ordinary year in Bollywood, but she’s ending it with a super-heavy high — far away from Juhu. Piggy Chops will be right here in Chennai as the headlining act for the Park Hyatt’s New Year’s Eve bash at their mullti-level club, The Flying Elephant. With music singles released with global music giants like Will.i.am and Pitbull, Priyanka lets on that she’s looking forward to doing a New Year gig for the first time in the South, with the Chennai crowd...

New Directions

New Year’s night symbolises so many things  — most importantly, it’s a fresh perspective to the year that lies ahead. At its core, this is a celebration, and I’m so excited to be an active part of commemorating this special occasion with my fans in Chennai.

Chennai Calling

Chennai has been heralded as India’s next party city, and what better evening to experience this. I truly enjoyed being here for the IPL opening ceremony and look forward to being back. Chennai fans have a tremendous energy and that is inspiring for any performer. Also, I am really looking forward to a good masala dosa and filter coffee.

Action Replay

I insist on constant rehearsals. Rehearsal and preparation is the key to any live show. It is also a great opportunity to experiment and push the envelope, come up with new ideas, moves and helps shape the show that the audience experiences. The work that goes on behind the scenes with my choreographer, costumer and music team is tremendous and quite honestly, a lot of fun.

Prepped to Party

Any live performance comes with it’s own set of challenges and thrills. Moving into the space, reacting to the audience, and bringing a sense of dynamism to any such performance is always demanding on any performer, but that’s the fun of it. There is no room for error, once the lights go up, that’s it – you have one chance to get it right.

Picky ‘Piggy’

My team always says that I am very demanding and I have to plead guilty. I just want to make sure that the audience and my fans experience something truly spectacular and you know what they say – the devil is in the detail. I always approach an event like this with a creative vision of what I hope the show will be and I know how to get my way.

(Drums Sivamani and DJ Zobhaa will also be performing with PC on New Year’s Eve. Contact The Flying Elephant, Park Hyatt Chennai for further details and reservations.)
