MUMBAI: Imtiaz Ali's looks at the failure of his last release "Jab Harry Met Sejal" as a "kabhi khushi kabhi gham" (sometimes there's happiness, sometimes there's sorrow) moment.

Featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, the film received mixed reviews upon its August release and ultimately did not do well at the box office.

When asked how he took the failure of the film, Ali smiled and said, "Kabhi khushi kabhi gham." Ali has "written a new story" and is "trying to figure out which film to make next." The director, who attended the opening ceremony of Jio MAMI 19th Mumbai Film Festival here last night, said he was looking forward to watch Anurag Kashyap's "Mukkabaaz". The boxing drama opened the festival.

"I am excited to see what Anurag has done with 'Mukkabaaz'. I've seen some excerpts of it and that's occupying my mind now. I am also looking forward to lots of international and regional films, which one doesn't get to see in cinema," he said.
