Techie's film in doldrums

The director of the the film 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' , a techie, is confused about how to proceed with his film.

Debutante director C Ashok is in a dilemma, and his condition can very well be a lesson for others in the same profession.

Ashok’s maiden film, ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, mounted the sets in Mysore on June 15 with much fanfare.

Murali and Nakshatra were assigned to play the lead roles. The team has completed 15 days of shooting and is expected to commence the second schedule shortly.

But in the meanwhile, Murali has agreed to act in Dayal’s forthcoming film. (Its title is yet to be decided, it may be ‘Harikatha’ or ‘Srihari’ shortly) and Nakshatra is giving preference to the recently started film ‘Gokula’.

With both the lead artistes of ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ being busy with other films, the director, a software engineer from Kalyan Nagar in Bangalore, is confused about how to proceed with his film.

Many people in Gandhinagar attribute the confusion that has arisen to the lack of planning and foresight by the director and also to financial problems, which are causing the delay in the film’s completion.

D Rajendra Babu, Nakshatra’s father, claims that his daughter participated only in the muhurat scene and not in the regular shooting. “My daughter is not against acting in ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ but she is not in a position to adjust her dates for that film,” explained Babu, who is also a director.

“I had been to Chennai for graphic work for 15 days. I was shocked to hear that Nakshtra is not interested in acting in ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’. I contacted her father Rajendra Babu.

He advised me to prepare the script before attempting to commence the second schedule. I do not completely understand his piece of advice. How can I start a film without preparing i t s script?” a bewildered Ashok said.

He said that he will meet Nakshatra’s father shortly to discuss her dates. “I will change the heroine if Nakshatra refuses to act. I will take a decision only after meeting Babu,” Ashok added.

However, Murali has made it clear that he had waited for more than three months for ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’.

“I even lost the chance to act in three films because of ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’. I accepted director Dayal’s film recently. I am not saying that I will not act in ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ but it depends on the dates,” the actor said. Will Ashok be able to roll out the film finally? Cinegoers will just have to wait and watch.
