Having set her foot in Sandalwood with Bhadra and then going on to be part of a series of films like Gajendra, Akramana and now, Bachchan - The Angry Man, Daisy Shah, who started as a dancer is making lot of noise. And this Mumbai beauty seems to be enjoying the exposure. "Working in Sandalwood is good fun and has also given me a good exposure as I gained some experience playing some new characters. In fact nothing was planned about me in terms of getting into tinsel town. My father wanted me to be an IAS officer and I myself wished to be an air hostess. Acting in films was never in mind but destiny brought me here," she said.
Daisy, who was working with choreographer Ganesh Acharaya's team got a taste of modelling and then later jumped into entertainment. "I started doing photo shoots and print ads when director Harsha from Sandalwood spotted me and wanted me to be part of Chingaari starring Darshan. Unfortunately the film got delayed and I had to step out. Nevertheless, I worked in a few good projects," said Daisy. The actress started showing her presence in Hindi cinema with an item song in Bloody Ishq but she took time to step into Bollywood. Today, on an upward swing, Daisy has also been chosen to be part of Bollywood film Mental in which, she is paired opposite Salman Khan. How does she feel to be known as Salman's new girl? "Well, Salman is known for getting new faces to Bollywood. He roped me as he thought I might fit the character. In this movie, the girl comes from a dancing background and that is how I got into it. I just completed my first schedule of shooting in Dubai and I will join them again sometime in mid-April," she said.
Now that Daisy has made her entry to B-Town, will she stop doing Kannada films? "I will never stop working for any language as long as the role excites me and I team up with a good production. It is needless to assume that an actress will stop working in other languages because of a Hindi film," she affirmed. "It is just that Bollywood takes a little more time," she added.
Daisy has also entered Kollywood with a Tamil film, Mouna Mana Neram directed by Mohan Raj. "The speciality of this film is that I am the hero and the heroine, backed up by a strong script. Eventually what started for pocket money and time pass, has now become my profession and I am beginning to get better with each film," she said.
