Krishna leela will have both actors Puneeth Rajkumar and Upendra rendering their voice for two songs, according to director Shahshank. “One  song needed Puneeth’s voice because it had a folk flavour. Puneeth has been supportive right from the beginning. He even did the teaser launch for us. He was quite excited when he heard the tunes scored by V Sridhar, which is more of a mass  number. He enjoyed singing the song, and we were happy that he did,” says Shashank. Talking about why he chose Upendra to sing another song in the film, he says, “The song which Upendra has sung is an opening number in the film, in which the characters are introduced. We wanted somebody who can bring in the director’s view point and Upendra perfectly fit the bill.”

According to Shashank, the film reaches a higher level when the stars sing in it. “Especially when the texture of the actor’s voice matches the song. That was the case with Puneeth and Upendra,” says Shashank.

Now that both songs are ready, Ajai Rao, the lead actor in the film, and the team are getting ready for the song shoot, which is set to happen in the first and second week of November. “The choreography for Puneeth’s song will be done by Kalai Master and  for Upendra’s, by Harsha,” he says.
