Bond Will Have a Local Flavour in Chethan's James

Chethan is still basking in the success of his debut Bahaddur that is now heading for a fifty-day run. But he  has taken no time to start his next project, titled James. He wrote this story during the post-production of Bahaddur and it is a new kind of film for the Kannada industry. “The film is Bond-inspired  with local flavour,” reveals Chethan, who intends to appease all kinds of audience with his latest project. “It will be an all-out commercial entertainer in 007 style which will give a local family drama that added thriller edge and bring the crowds to the theatre. The Bond element will be the outer facade of James as my story has more depth and is more than just a style exercise. The film also throws light on the idea of justice, which is an universal subject” he says.

Fortunately, the young director has R Srinivas and Sreekanth KP of RS PRoductions by his side, who produced his first film. They have now shown interest in producing James.

The interesting fact is that Chethan will be helming the film for either Puneeth Rajkumar or Yash as the actors will read the script in 10 days.

“RS productions were keen that I do the film with either of the two actors. I have been told by the producers to give a reading to both and whoever likes the story after this, has dates and fits the bill the best, will be part of James. If everything goes as per plans, the film will go on floors, by March, next year,” he says.

Meanwhile, Bahaddhur will be watched by the Allu Aravind’s family who had requested the producers to get the film uploaded to his personal Qube Theatre at his residence.

It will be decided by the family as to who will be part of the Telugu remake although currently actor Allu Arjun’s name keeps popping up. A final decision will be made after they watch Bahaddur on Sunday. “Since RS Productions have taken up the responsibility of remaking the film in Telugu, I will have the opportunity of helming the film in an other languages. I can talk about it once I get clearer details myself,” says Chethan.
