Nanda Kishore to Direct Radhika Kumaraswamy

Actress Radhika Kumaraswamy who is celebrating her birthday today is glad that she  is at the perfect place to celebrate the occasion. Radhika is simultaneously shooting for two films Rudratandava and Namagagi and both the filmmakers have requested her to give a half-day schedule to shoot a particular sequence for their respective films. To her surprise, both the films have scenes, which will need her to do what she always does on her birthday. "I play an orphan in Namagagi and I will be at the orphanage. This particular scene will be shot today. In Rudratandava, I am playing a teacher's role and one scene requires me to spend a day's time with the leprosy patients. Coincidentally, in real life, every year, I do go to such places and offer food and spend time with these underprivileged people. The only difference is that this time I will be doing it onscreen as well. Later I will be spending time with my family members," she says.

Radhika’s passion towards films never dies. This time, her birthday gift to herself and to her audience is an announcement of another film, which will be produced under her home banner Shamika Production. This film will see Radhika working  with director Nanda Kishore who is currently busy directing Ranna with Sudeep. "Nanda Kishore wanted to have a photo shoot and then make an official announcement. Since he is busy with his prior commitments, he couldn't get time for his next project. I can only talk about it now and further details will be revealed as and when Nanda Kishore is done with Ranna," she says.

Apparently Radhika is learning horse- riding and rope training for this yet-to-be-titled film. "Nanda Kishore wanted me to get into the skin of the character and I am open to learning a new art. Such skills are necessary for an actress and it will come in handy for my other films too," says Radhika, adding, "The film will be a heroine-oriented subject, and supposedly be along  the lines of Arundhathi. I have left it to Nanda Kishore and it is up to him, how he wants to portray me."

Interestingly, her daughter Shamika, all of five years old already shows signs of being an actress. "She keeps acting in front of the mirror and accompanies me daily to  the horse-riding classes. I am encouraging her in what she wants to do. In fact, I have shown her a couple of films starring Shamili who was excellent as a child artiste. Shamika also has interest in sports and outdoor activities. I am open to anything, as far as it doesn't disturb her school routine," she signs off.
