The Face of Month (FoM) event took place with much fanfare in the presence of Dr C J Roy, founder and chairman of Confident Group, along with celebrity judges and young talented finalists on August 27, 2014. The contest was won by Aashritha Naidu. Nishita P Kumar was the first runner up and Shruti Dhawan was the second runner up. “The Face of the Week event is getting bigger and better thanks to a wonderful team. There will be more faces to be spotted in the coming weeks and the right participant will win the title,” said Dr Roy. Among the nine shortlisted finalists were enthusiastic aspirants from different backgrounds.
The event was kicked off by anchor Afshana at Confident Propus, with professional models of the Elite Model Flatt walking the ramp. They were dressed to perfection in haute couture designed by Roopa Patil. Sameer Khan choreographed the moves of participants whom he had also groomed for the big event.
Along with Bhavya Gowda, (Miss Earth (Northampton Midlands UK) 2010), other judges included actress Shubha Punja, Anita Bhat, Parvarthy Nair and Jeemole Jaibin (Ms Kerala - 2011). The finalists displayed confidence as they walked the ramp, giving the judges a hard time in deciding who the winner was. Among the contestants were Sushmita Gopinath who also won the Miss Photogenic Face, Reshma Nambiar, Kalhari K H, Vidya Acharya, Archana Pandey and Darshana Shiyal.
The evening also saw some enthralling entertainment with B Puttaraj, a magician, displaying his tricks before the large audience present at the event. It was a night filled with large doses of glamour with socialites enjoying the show with cocktails and canapes. Among them were Ram and Sheetal Chugh, Wanitha Ashok, Charu, Elveera, Anchal, Snehal Mathias and Miranda Fernandez. Dr Roy interacted with the contestants and the guests and a good time was had by all. The finalist declared Face of the Month will now go on to compete with other participants featuring in the forthcoming weekly events. And every month, the contestants will be groomed and trained to participate in the Face of the Week followed by the Face of the Month event. With auditions happening across the city, the Face of the Month is chosen after sifting the feedback and number of emails sent by the readers.
