Ravi Varma is the New Baddie

Stunt choreographer Varma is all set to hit the screens in a new negative avatar

Stunt choreographer Ravi Varma has currently been the talk of  town for his impressive work in Pavan Wadeyar's Rana Vikrama. He surprised the audience with his guest appearance in the same film as a baddie. Continuing the exploration of his acting talent, Ravi Varma is now all set to play an antagonist in Raees where he will be sharing screen space with none other than Bolly superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Though, Ravi could not reveal too many details, he told us, "I have a guest appearance in this film too, and I cannot say anything else because of my agreement with the makers. I was preparing for the fight sequences with director Rahul Dholakia of Raees, when he asked me whether I would be interested in playing a small negative role in the film. I was immediately willing and my role was fixed over a casual conversation on the spot."

Ravi agrees that a small and important role does make an impact in a film. "For me, it was that particular character, which excited me and I agreed. Let's see, if this is one step further towards an acting career as I don't mind starting off with small roles," he says. The stunt choreographer has completed directing the action bits for Dodmane Huduga and he will soon head to Mumbai, where he will begin his work on Raees for which shooting starts from May. Meanwhile, he is also quietly preparing for his debut directorial project in Sandalwood for which he has roped in Puneeth and Shivarajkumar. "The film will go on floors from next year and it will be pathbreaking," he signs off.
