Cinematographer Vaidy Joins Masterpiece Team

Cinematographer Vaidy seems to be one of the current favourites of Sandalwood. So much so that the makers of Masterpiece have postponed their shooting to the second week of April only to accommodate his dates. The cinematographer, who was busy till yesterday, shooting for Puneeth Rajkumar’s  Rana Vikrama directed by Pavan Wadeyar, will soon join the team of Masterpiece. “Yash preferred Vaidy as the two were associated in two earlier films — Googly and Mr and Mrs Ramachari and he had liked his body of work. Luckily, he just got free at the right time and has agreed to work in our project,” says director Manju Mandavya.

Vaidy is equally excited to work with Yash again and says, “I would love to work with him in all his films. In fact, initially, I could not accommodate dates for Masterpiece and they had almost planned to go with another cinematographer. Recently, Yash and director called me again to ask about my dates. Since, I got free around that time I said okay,” he says.

Vaidy was a DOP (Director of Photography) who started his career in Sandalwood with Romeo and has since been establishing himself by giving the best visuals in each film that he does. He says that he and his technical team makes sure that the picturisation blends with the story. “My last film with Yash was Ramachari, which was a romantic film, and now Masterpiece will be in a different genre. This film will be a new and challenging experiment for me,” he says.

Vaidy has taken some time to start Masterpiece only to prepare himself. “I don’t blindly join the sets of a film and prefer to discuss the project beforehand. I just heard the script a week ago and the whole process with our technical team starts now. I am humbled to hear that Yash and his crew are waiting for me to join the team,” he says.
