This year has been a celebratory one for Radhika Pandit. Professionally, she has been having back-to-back hits while, personally, she got engaged to Yash.
She started her year with Zoom, followed by Doddmane Hudga and now Santhu Straight Forward. The last becomes even more special for its shooting took place around the same time of her engagement with Yash with whom she is paired with in this film.
City Express, in a conversation with Radhika asked the actress whether the chemistry only got better working with the man she is to marry. She begged to differ.
“We are very professional actors,” she says. “When it comes to our work and we make sure that we don’t mix it with our personal lives. It really doesn’t matter when certain doubts are raised whether we share a better chemistry after the engagement. As actors we can’t bring in our personal equation into the frame. All of us work for the product.”
“If I was not part of Santhu Straight Forward and if there was any other
heroine, Yash would have given the same 100 per cent to the story,” she says.
This is the fourth film in which Radhika and Yash have been paired. The combination, she says,
has been liked and admired.
“We have been appreciated for our work. The love we receive now has only doubled because they like us on and off screen, which we consider a blessing,” she says.
Santhu Straight Forward is coming after the pair’s blockbuster
Mr and Mrs Ramachari. Radhika appreciates and accepts that Santhosh Ananddram's debut directorial did create magic for them and the team, but also notes that it is cannot be recreated.
“Even if the same team comes together, we can make a good project, but cannot repeat a Mr and Mrs Ramachari because that magic was different. It would be unfair to draw similarities between the two projects. Santhu... is a totally different plot,” she says.
According +to her, as the title suggests, Santhu Straight Forward is about a straight forward guy who is strong-willed and says what he means.
“I play the role of Ananya, who is an architect and is associated with an NGO.
The character in the film is very sweet and simple.
It is an entertainer with all the commercial elements,” she says.
