Seems like Upendra is wasting no time in working with directors who have interesting and unique scripts for him. After approving a subject from director Manju Mandavya, the next in line is Shashank’s project, which the actor okayed after a one-liner. This is another new actor-director combination.
Shashank has been meaning to start his own production house for a while now and will start with Upendra’s film. “I am happy to be directing Uppi and equally excited that it will be a made under my banner,” says Shashank,
According to the director, the plot created for Uppi is unconventional.
“It will be remakably different cinema for me, for Uppi and for the Kannada industry and that is one of the reasons I want to produce this film. Uppi is a director too and he also felt the subject is unique,” he says.
Shashank is now in a better position to develop the script, screenplay and dialogues because he already has the actor in mind.
“Over the last two years, we have been discussing working together but I waited till I had a plot that will match Upendra’s sensbilities. He has told me to take time and get back to him with the script and other details before we take it further,” he says.
