They say that there is only one good son and every father has one, but dreaded don of yesteryears, MP Jayaraj’s son, Ajith Jayraj reverses the sentiment saying, ‘there is only one good father and every son has one’. One among the first to dominate the underworld in Bengaluru, Jayaraj’s son, who is now an upcoming actor and on the verge of making a film on his father says, “There is no rule that a doctor’s son should be a doctor.  My father was considered to be a don, but I have chosen a creative field where there is violence but in an artistic manner. I want to achieve something in the acting field. Thankfully I have been encouraged and the industry has welcomed me and

I am working towards establishing myself here.”
Ajith is proud to have his father’s surname and although his father expired when he was just 8 months old, he feels the don was the Robin Hood of the city. “There are many things that people don’t know about him, which I want to bring out. I believe that there was goodness in my father. There is a slum near our area where people still have a photo of my father kept next to the god. He had a lot of fan following. And I would intend to show everything about my father in this film and his journey without diluting it. I know the way my mother struggled to get me to this stage and that too without anybody’s help. It was she who made me to come to this stage and she is proud,” says the actor who started his acting career with the moderately successful film, Agamya.

Now preparing himself for his third film, Trataka, all set to go on floors from today. This will be director Shiva Ganesh's second film, who made his mark in Kannada with
Jigarthanda. This is a film made in Kannada and Tamil. Rahul will be featured with me in Kannada version while I will be associating with Ajmal Ameer in the Tamil film,” he says.

It was interesting to know from Ajith himself that he was supposed to do Aa Dinagalu, a film inspired by the lives of dreaded don Kotwal Ramacharndra and his father, but was played by Chetan. “I was not in a fitness regime. Sridhar uncle (Agni Sridhar) was a very close friend of mine and I did discuss about my passion towards acting. But back then I was 108 kgs. And when I went get into acting field, I knew I had to be fit. So I started working out and even joined skating classes. I not only reduced my weight from 108 to 78 kgs but I am also a National level champion in skating,” he reveals.

The actor is now actively involved in the film on his father and he is closely working with director, Bhagat who will be helming the project. “The director is currently in touch with the people whom my father was in contact with and is collecting stories from all over.  We want to bring out a realistic film and I will be playing the younger version of my father in the film. They are looking for two to three characters who will be playing the older version, which is taking some time,” explains Ajith, adding, “I am currently busy with four films and during the time, I will think whether I can bring out this film under my own production. But then, it is still at initial stages,” he says.
