‘I am lucky that my music will help recall a legend’

Music director V Harikrishna, who is basking in the success of Raajakumara’s music and  especially with the Bombe song getting more than 5 million views, says that his next album will connect with yet another film that carries a legacy.

He is to work for Shivarajkumar-starrer Bangara S/o Bangarada Manushya. Directed by Yogi G Raj, the movie will carry a title that is similar to that of the 1972 classic Bangarada Manushya. The director Yogi dedicates this current movie, wholeheartedly, to the farmers of Karnataka and across the world.
Bangarada Manushya, a classic of the legendary Rajkumar, is one in which he played a farmer.
Audio launch of Bangara S/O... is planned for April 24, on Rajkumar’s birthday. V Harikrishna, in conversation with City Express, says that he considers himself lucky to be able to connect his music with Rajkumar’s legacy.

“Whenever I get an opportunity to make music for such films, which recalls the legend, I feel like I have directed music for the matinee idol,” he says.
Harikrishna says that all the five songs composed for Bangara... blends with the storyline, particularly three tracks. “There is also a theme song, which comes in the re-recording,” he says.
But the highlight will be one particular track, the lyrics of which go ‘Ondanondu ooralli ooba Rajindaa’ that ends with ‘Janare mechidda bangaradamanushya’, says Harikrishna.

“This is about the farmers, a song that connects to many hearts,” he says. “Like how Bombe song became popular because it blended well with the story, similarly, this song was woven into the film and the song is rightly placed... it does not seem like we have used the title for publicity.”
The film made under Jayanna Combines has Vidya Pradeep marking her debut in Kannada. It is now in post-production stage and is likely to be released in May.
