BENGALURU: Kannada television actor Deekshith Shetty was attacked by three men on Thursday night after he declined to pose for a picture with them.

The actor, who plays the lead role in a Kannada serial 'Nagini', had come to Maruthi Mandir in his car on Thursday. While he was getting into his vehicle to return home around 9.30 pm, he was noticed by the gang. They eventually followed him for a distance on bikes and stopped his car on the road and demanded that he take a selfie with them. Noticing that they were drunk, Shetty refused to get out of his car which led to an argument.

"They assaulted him and threw stones at his car before running away from the scene. He has filed a case with the police station and we are studying CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the accused," a senior police officer from the Vijaynagar police station said. Local youth are suspected to be behind the incident, he said.
