Chowka gets a 20-minute trim to match single screen timings

Tarun Sudhir’s directorial debut Chowka has been trimmed by 20 minutes, a decision the makers had to take only to match the single screen theatre timings.

Tarun Sudhir’s directorial debut Chowka has been trimmed by 20 minutes, a decision the makers had to take only to match the single screen theatre timings.

“Though, the three-hour run was suiting the multiplex timings, the single theatres found it difficult to keep up with schedule. There was a clash with the showtimings, which are regularly scheduled at 10.30 am, 1.30, 4.30 and 7.30 pm,” Tarun says.

The audiences who were going in for the matinee, first show were missing out on 15 minutes and the last show was getting delayed, he explains.

“Though it was not affecting multiplexes,  80 per cent of Kannada film screening happen at single theatres,” he adds.  Chowka is the 50th film being made under Dwarakish Pictures. The film was released last week. Actors Prem, Prajwal Devaraj, Vijaya Raghavendra and Diganth  will be heading to Uttara Karnataka this week for promotions.
