Jilka Jilka song from Pushpaka Vimana, which featured Juhi Chawla in a retro avatar, now gets a rock twist with Rachita Ram shaking a leg to the remix version. This is the second song from Sakath Studio, an initiative by RJ Pradeepa to talk about Kannada films on social media.
He says, “I started with an acapella song, a remix version of Hello Who Are You from Kirik Party, which became popular and got almost over 1.50 lakh views just days after its release. I followed it up with Jilka Jilka, a popular song from music director Charan Raj’s album. Apart from songs, I will be working with sequences, dialogues and whatever is popular with the audience”. Pradeepa himself invests in each promotional song, bringing in his own team including dancers and choreographers.
“This is just the beginning. I have a lot planned for Sakath Studios,” he says, “There will also be a webseries, among other things, which will talk about Sandalwood.”
Rachita is excited about the rock version of Jilka Jilka and says,
“The moment I heard the Jilka song, I felt sad that I couldn’t be part of the song. But the character I play, as a lawyer, didn’t need to be in such a song and Juhi Chawla came in. Infact, I even performed the song at the last Siima awards. So when I was approached for the remix by Pradeepa and cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda, I jumped into it,” she says.
Shooting of the remix closed with a sequence at Minerva Mills and the team plans to release it on social-media today.
“I had to do a Latin dance, which is very new to me and it took me a day’s rehearsal to get the steps right. I have seen it done on reality shows, so it was fun to those Latin steps now,” she says.
