The team behind Kurukshetra is busy finalising the ensemble cast before they go on floors from August first week. And the heroine to be signed on, after Hariprriya, is Telugu actor Regina Cassandra. While the epic drama will see Hariprriya play a princess, it will have Regina essay the role of Bhanumati or Dhuryodhana’s wife.
Regina, now a well-established heroine in Telugu and Tamil industries, had made her Kannada debut with KM Chaitanya’s Suryakanthi. Released in 2012, the movie had her paired opposite Chetan. The actress, making a comeback in Sandalwood after five years, will be seen opposite Darshan in his 50th film. The production house is still scouting for artistes to play central roles and will make an annoucement about the cast on July 30, on the movie’s muhurath.
Meanwhile, we hear that Regina has been approached to play the lead for another Kannada project Hayagreeva, a film directed by Nan da Kishore, starring Dhruva Sarja. Discussions on available dates and payments are on. With two back-to-back projects, Regina returns to Sandalwood with a bang.
