‘Directing shivanna  is a dream come true’

There a few directors who have a ready stack of stories and then pick actors. But there are also others who write a story keeping an actor in mind. Director AP Arjun has done the latter, with a story written for Shivarajkumar, and the actor has liked it as well.

If all goes according to plan, the film will start rolling from September, after Arjun completes his current project KISS and once Shivanna is done with his prior commitments.

Arjun tells with City Express that he was excited when Shivarajkumar agreed to be part of his project. The director, who started his career with Ambari, is five-films old and has a dream of directing Shivanna. “The actor finished the first reading of the subject and he said he loved it, and asked me to go ahead with it,” says Arjun.

Shivanna has done as many as 100 characters in his career, but Arjun is confident that in his movie the actor will be seen in an new avatar.

“I am sure that the character in the movie will suit perfectly with his age. The film will see Shivanna in three shades, a small portion will be when it travels back 20 years and then will be coming to the present.

He will also be seen as a 70-year-old man,” says Arjun, adding, “It was not about just doing a film with him, but I wanted to do something that suits his age. I want to keep the film  as close to Shivanna in real life and I did my homework around that.”
