Ishan hopes to land pichaikkaran remake

We hear that the film rights is with Yogi, who is considering signing on the actor

Ishan, who was introduced to tinsel town through Puri Jaggannadh’s Rogue, is in talks with various directors for  his second project. While he has been listening to stories, our sources say that the actor is considering a remake of the Tamil hit film Pichaikkaran. Ishan is keen on playing the lead, which was done by Vijay Antony in Tamil, written and directed by Sasi.

The rights of the Tamil film is currently with Dwarakish’s son Yogi and it is yet to be known whether he
will do a movie with Ishan or sell the rights to Tanvi Productions, owned by the actor’s uncle CR Manohar. The film had been initially planned with actor Krishna Ajai Rao, but neither the actor
nor the production house had confirmed the project.

Our source says, “Ishan, who watched the film was bowled over by the storyline, especially when the hero lives as a beggar in the hope that his mother recovers from a coma.”

Pichaikkaran did excellently well at the box office in both Tamil and Telugu. The movie was appreciated by the critics too.

Director and technicians for the remake are yet to be finalised, but first Yogi Dwarakish has to decide how he wants to proceed. Everything should fall in place in the next two weeks, and Ishan hopes to go on floors with the project in July.

Meanwhile, the actor is gearing up for a Telugu project and is likely to finalise a film with director Vijay Kumar Konda, who is known for his films — Oka Laila Kosam and Gunde Jari Gallanthayyinde, “Ishan is also in discussions with two to three big directors in Kannada and Telugu industries,” says our source.
