Year draws to cracking close, two star movies to be launched on Nov 23

Remakes of two hits will shine with star power of Ambareesh and Shivarajkumar

As 2017 comes to a close, with little over a month to go, Sandalwood is seeing a flood of new releases and a film’s muhurath organised every other week. But what is more exciting is that two films of big heroes will be launched on November 23.

Ambareesh to face the arc lights once more for Ambi Ning Vaiyasayitho.  Work on the film Ambi Ning Vaiyasayitho. which is being made under Sudeep’s banner Kiccha Creations in association with producer and distributor Jack Manju, is starting this Thursday with a simple pooja.

The movie’s lead is being played by senior actor Ambareesh,who is excited and charged up to come back after a long break. The film, inspired by Tamil hit flick Power Pandi, marks the directorial debut of Gurudatha Ganiga and features Suhasini among others in the cast.

Kannada version of Oppam remake titled Kavacha

The second project to start rolling from November 23 will be Shivarajkumar-starrer, also helmed by newcomer GVR Vasu. This Kannada remake of Malayalam hit Oppam has been titled Kavacha.
The crime thriller, based on a story by Govind Vijayan of a blind man’s revenge, has Isha Koppikar playing a cop and Vasishta Simha as the antagonist.

While the team has retained the child artiste Meenakshi from the Malayalam original, we heard that Amrutha Naik, who played the economics teacher in Raj B Shetty’s Ondu Motteya Kathe, will play sister to Shivarajkumar in this film. The film, made under Hayagreeva Kala Chitra, is produced by A Sampath Kumar along with MVV Sathyanarayana. The first schedule of the film will be shot in Bengaluru.
