Certain films change the course of an actor’s career and so Chowka has been for Prajwal Devaraj’s. The 25-film old actor had his share of ups and downs, but he admits that Chowka gave him that much-needed break. He says that it helped him get back on track and started him on picking the right kind of subjects and characters.

He says, “I have been in this industry for 10 years now and I am 25-films-old. I can take it slow and be more responsible while choosing roles.” And, he seems to be in a happy space right now, with good projects coming his way.The actor is currently shooting Dinakar Thoogudeepa’s directorial  Life Jothe Ondh Selfie, and will be joining the next schedule from November 7.

“The film on friendship offered me a different kind of role and I jumped at the chance, without a second thought. The film is shaping up excellently,” he says.Equally interesting is his project with Vikyath Productions, of Pushpaka Vimana fame.

The film will be directed by Narasimha, who was an associate of Pavan Wadeyar and who has assisted in Vikyath’s first production. The actor says, “I play an inspector in the movie and the characterisation is different from the usual onscreen cops”.

He adds, “There is humour and there is action. I like watching funny cop movies, and this movie weaves in thrills and horror into this masterfully. Moreover, I had watched Ramesh Aravind’s Pushpaka Vimana done under this banner, and it was done tastefully and with a good sense of drama”.He is also doing Thackeray with Samahara’s director  Gurudeshpande, and this will be an adaptation of Macbeth.

“Gurudespande is keen on this story and we are discussing it as of now . In all likelihood, he will take the project forward and this should be finalised soon,” says Prajwal. “Depending, on the dates that the production houses decide, I should be starting shooting for one of the films in December... or as and when I complete Life Jothe Ondh Selfie.”
