Shashank’s upcoming film Thayige Takka Maga is in the final stages of shooting, with a romantic song sequence left that will start today. The film, starring Krishna Ajai Rao, Ashika Ranaganath and senior actor Sumalatha, will be Shashank’s first production venture.
Initially, the director-turned-producer gave opportunities to new directors to helm projects. However, Raghu Kovi and Ved Guru - who were roped in to direct the film - exited the project. This pushed Shashank to direct it himself.
“The film schedule was completed in a span of 75 days, and one song will be completed this week,” says Shashank, who has also completed dubbing with the various artistes. “Now, I am left with just post-production work. I am targeting a September release,” Shashank tells us.
The title Thayige Takka Maga was inspired from one of Dr Rajkumar ’s films of the same name, and this also marks Ajai’s 25th project. Secondly, this will be Shashank and the actor’s third project together, after Krishnan Love Story and Krishna Leela. Thayige Takka Maga has Judah Sandy’s music and cinematography by Shekar Chandru.
