Singer Daler Mehndi debuts in Kannada with The Villain

Director Prem and music composer Arjun Janya have recorded a track with the musician

The director of The Villian, Prem, has kept movie buffs in suspense ever since he took to his Twiiter to reveal that he was going to be roping in a popular “international singer”, who would make his debut in Kannada in the film.

He said that he would let out the name of this singer soon, and made a special mention about music director Arjun Janya, and how he has come up with an “extraordinary composition and excellent lyrics” for the Shivrajkumar and Sudeep-starrer.

But we could not contain our curiosity and found out that the singer in question is none other than our very own popular singer-songwriter, author and record producer, Daler Mehndi. A song sung by Daler was recorded on Tuesday in New Delhi. Getting back to Prem’s video, the director says that the singer was dancing while recording this song. It is now just a matter of time before the music team makes a splash with this track. The song is currently at the editing desk with Arjun Janya handling the final mixing.
As a director, Prem, tries to brings in many “firsts” in his films. Some of these include Amy Jackson making her Kannada debut in his film along with Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty and Telugu actor. Bringing in Daler Mehndi is now the other feather in his directorial cap.
