The shooting of the movie “Thanichalla Njan”, directed by Babu Thiruvalla, is progressing at Kidangara and Thiruvalla.

The movie, based on a real incident, has KPAC Lalitha and Kalpana playing the lead roles. “The film is based on an incident that occurred in Alappuzha recently. A Brahmin middle-aged woman, an outcast of the family, decides to commit suicide on the railway track, but was saved and taken home by a Muslim woman, who is a social worker,” said director Babu Thiruvalla.

The story revolves around the difficulties, sacrifices and adjustments of the Muslim woman and her family as the love and harmony between the two grow to a stage where they find extremely difficult to separate.

At a time when children are finding old-age homes for their parents, and communal violence flaring up at various places, a Muslim woman, out of love and affection without considering religion, caste or creed, protects a Brahmin woman in her house.

“Thanichalla Njan”, produced by Avagama and Thai, will also have Jagathy Sreekumar, Ashokan, Sivaji Guruvayoor, Sathar and Charutha Baiju portraying other major roles. M J Radhakrishnan handles the camera. This film is the second venture by producer Bobby Avagama, after “Sthalam”. The movie is set to hit the screens by the second half of this year.
