A feel-good piece of life

Boban Samuel’s next will feature Jayasurya, Lal and Aparna Gopinath in the lead

Boban Samuel and Jayasurya will be soon joining hands after Janapriyan and this time giving them company are Aparna Gopinath and Lal.

The untitled film, which is woven around three characters, will be a complete family entertainer. “The lead characters meet each other on a journey and what follows forms the crux of the storyline,” says the director. Ernakulam, Mysore and Banglore are the main locations of the film.

Boban Samuel says this film will be different from both his earlier films - Janapriyan and Romans. “This time the focus is more on the family audience though the film has a generous dose of humour,” he explains. He adds that the highlight of the film is it’s subject. “The film has a different theme and a fresh angle. It will be the first Malayalam film to deal with such a subject. Moreover, the film also has a surprise in store for the audience.”

Jayasurya, who plays a hotel employee in the film, says his character in the film is leagues apart from what he has done so far in his acting career. “Both the film and my character will have an element of freshness. It’s the kind of character that demands a lot of homework and I plan to spend the early weeks of November preparing for it,” says the actor.

In the film, Lal plays a compulsive do-gooder, who has a habit of reacting to injustice of any kind. As the result, most of the times he finds himself in trouble. Aparna plays a girl who leaves her home following a spat with her father. “She boards a bus without any planning and gets acquainted with the character of Jayasurya during the journey. That trip brings a great change in her life,” says Boban who adds that though the film involves travel it's not a road movie.

The film produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Milestone Cinemas, will go on floors by November 15.
