A handful of interesting films will hit the screens this Onam

It's the time of the year when a slew of promising projects make their way to the marquee. Though the release of some much-awaited films has been postponed, you will definitely have enough choice this Onam.

Their last collaboration turned out to be a dud, yet expectations are sky-high for Oppam. The Priyadarshan-Mohanalal thriller has the actor playing the role of a visually-challenged lift operator. The film is woven around a murder he happens to witness and giving him company are Vimala Raman, Nedumudi Venu, Anusreeand Samuthirakani. And the superstar fans will get a double treat this Onam as the Malayalam version of Janatha Garage will be released during the first week of September. Directed by Koratala Siva the film has a stellar cast that includes Jr NTR, Unni Mukundan, Rahman, Samantha, and Nithya Menen.

Oozham has Prithviraj and Jeethu Joseph joining hands after their hit outing Memories. The revenge drama has already created quite a buzz with its trailer. While Prithviraj plays Surya Krishnamurthy, a young professional, Balachandra Menon, Seetha, Kishor Satya, Neeraj Madhav, Divya Pillai, Rasna Pavithran, and Pasupathi are also part of the cast. Dileep is also ready with his festival film Welcome to Central Jail in which he plays the role of a jailbird. Starring Vedhika in the lead the film is expected to be a total entertainer. Reportedly, Oru Muthassi Gadha, Jude Anthany Joseph's second outing after Om Shanti Oshana, will also hit the screens in September. The film, which has two grandmothers playing the lead characters, also stars Vineeth Sreenivasan and Namitha Pramod along others.

Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho is special in more ways than one.  The film, which stars Kunchako Boban in the lead, marks the comeback of the renowned production house Udaya Pictures. With its quirky title and award-winning director Sidhartha Siva at the helm, the film is expected to hit screens during Onam.

Another film to release this season is Ore Mukham starring Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead. The campus thriller also features Aju Varghese in an important role.
