Mammootty will be playing the lead in script writer-turned-director Sethu’s debut. The movie, that will go on the floors in early 2017, will have the actor playing a villager. “This is an out-and-out entertainer. A movie that everybody can relate to. Mammootty will appear in a ‘common man avatar’,” says the director.
He adds that the movie, that will be shot in Kuttanad and nearby areas, will have three lead ladies. “I am in talks with Vedhika. She is yet to sign on the dotted line. The confirmation will soon be made,” said Sethu.Mammootty who is presently shooting for director Ranjith’s Puthanpanam will move on to Shyamdhar’s next.
“We haven’t worked out the dates. But, we hope he will join us soon after Shyamdhar’s project. Any way it will happen in the first half of 2017,” adds Sethu. The director has earlier worked with Mammootty in Doubles (2011) which had Mammootty and Nadia Moidu in the lead.
The Sethu-Sachi duo had earlier scripted a number of hit movies, including the Prithviraj starrer, Robin Hood and Chocolate. However, the duo parted ways in 2011. While Sachi made his debut with the critically and commerically acclaimed
Anarkali, Sethu had planned a project a few years ago which had to be shelved.
