Aparna Balamurali, who burst on the screen with her convincing act in Maheshinte Prathikaram, will make her Tamil debut this week in 8 Thottakkal.

The pretty actor is playing a journalist. “It is a dark thriller, which has me playing an intern with a media firm. My character is on a hunt for an exclusive, following which she meets a cop, who finds his gun missing,” she adds.

She says that her character, Meera, might not have much screen space but definitely makes  an impact. “I never looked out for a Tamil project. Director Sri Ganesh saw Maheshinte Prathikaram and thought I would fit the role. I loved the script,” she adds.

She says the trailer has garnered a good response. “I have heard positive things ever since it was out. Though it is mainly debutants, we are sure that the movie will be noticed,” she says.
Meanwhile, the actor is now busy with Jis Joy’s Sunday Holiday and debutante  Rathiesh Kumar’s Thrissuvaperoor Kliptham.

“I have finished dubbing for Sunday Holiday, which is a fun movie. Thrissuvaperoor got a bit delayed. It is kind of a thriller and I hope both the movies will hit the screens by May,” she adds. In both films, she is paired opposite Asif Ali.

On the equation with her co-star, she says Asif Ali is like a brother for her. “We first met during the shoot of Thrissuvaperoor and I think he is a wonderful actor and co-star. Then, Sunday Holiday happened where we worked together. It was on the sets of this film that I got closer to his family as well,” says Aparna.
