DQ turns Sukumara Kurup

The film is expected to go on floors after DQ’s present projects including Bejoy Nambiar’s Solo are finished

It was in 2012 DQ made his much-awaited debut with another newbie Srinath Rajendran. The medium-budget film, a crime drama woven around smuggling gangs, was an average hit. And now, five years down the lane, the duo is all set to join hands once again. “So at long last.

Nearly 6 years later I reunite with my brother Srinath Rajendran the director of my debut film Second Show for a very ambitious film. I think we’ve discussed this during Second Show. But I guess everything has its own time.

Early 2018 we hope to go on the floors with this film. And it’s something I’m super super thrilled about. Happy to share this with all of you,” posted an excited actor along with a poster of an upcoming film. After Second Show Srinath directed one more film in 2014, Koothara starring Mohanlal along with a bunch of young actors.

In the film Dulquer will be appearing in the role of Sukumara Kurup, Kerala’s  most-wanted criminal absconding after a murder. In 1984 Sukumara Kurup faked his own death by murdering  Chacko and burning his body inside a car.

He committed the crime for insurance money and has been missing ever since. The story has inspired a couple of films including NH 47 released in 1984 and the recent Pinneyum directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. “The story is not the one you have known or heard,” posted Srinath Rajendran. The film is expected to go on floors after DQ’s present projects including Bejoy Nambiar’s Solo.
