Mia couldn’t wait to be back in Malayalam

She will play a journalist in Shafi’s Sherlock Toms opposite Biju Menon

Mia, who was missing for sometime from Malayalam movies, is back with director Shafi’s next Sherlock Toms opposite Biju Menon. And, the actor, who was busy in Telugu and Tamil, says she couldn’t wait to be back   so she just grabbed the offer.

“I play a journalist in Sherlock Toms, an entertainer. The thing I found interesting was that the movie doesn’t explore her any other facet, but work. That is rare in Malayalam. Usually, even if the character is a journalist, the focus is more on her personal life. That is not the case in Sherlock Toms,” she says.
But, is it challenging for her to be at her comical best for the role? “This too is a quintessential Shafi movie where humour is mostly situational. So, I don’t have to act funny or mouth comical dialogues. The narrative makes up for it. Anyway, playing the role is great fun,” she adds.
Mia’s last release was Yaman in Tamil opposite Vijay Antony. She has also wound up a Telugu movie Ungarala Rambabu opposite Sunil.

“Unlike Malayalam, both these industries are big and movies are shot in multiple schedules. That consumes a lot of time. That’s why I couldn’t spare much time for Malayalam. But, then I wanted to comeback desperately. That’s when Shafi called me for Sherlock Toms,” she says. Mia will also be seen opposite Niranj, son of actor Maniyanpillai Raju in the movie titled Bobby.
