CHENNAI: It looks like STR (Simbu) is on cloud nine after the success of his recent film, 'Vaanam', which enjoyed a huge opening at the box office.

To celebrate, the film’s cast and crew along with guests attended a fancy do thrown by STR and producer, VTV Ganesh. Dhayanidhi Alagiri, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Venkat Prabhu, Premji, Suseenthiran, singer Suchithra, Shanthnoo, editor Antony and Sonia Agarwal (in a stunning black dress) along with film’s crew were seen at the party.

STR is now busy with the shooting of 'Osthi', a remake of the Salman Khan starrer 'Dabangg'.

The pooja for the film was held on Monday morning at the AVM Pillayar Koil. Dharani, who is directing the movie in Tamil, said the movie would suit Tamil audiences.

STR will essay the role of a cop and is working on his looks and physique. Richa Gangopadhyay, who has acted in Telugu films like 'Leader' and 'Nagavalli', pairs up with STR.

Jithan Ramesh plays STR’s brother in the film and Revathy returns to the silver screen with this film after a long break. Sonu Sood, who played the villain in the Hindi version, will essay the same role in 'Osthi'.
