Saranya Mohan returns to school

Actor Saranya Mohan, who has been absent from the Tamil screen for a while, is returning to Kollywood with a film titled Kaadhalai Thavira Verondrumillai.

While the actor is said to be choosy about her projects after her last Tamil flick Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai, director Selvabharathi said she really liked the story of Kaadhalai Thavira Verondrumillai and wanted to be a part of it.

Selvabharathi, who has directed eight films, including three Vijay-starrers — Ninaithen Vandhai, Priyamanavalae and Vaseegara — turns producer with this film. His children, Rahul and Rohith, play minor roles in the film. According to the director, the film is set against the backdrop of a tuition centre and is a funny take on several issues involved in the present education system.

Actor Yuvan of Saattai fame plays the hero and popular TV host Iman, (best known as Annachi), plays the tuition teacher. The movie is in the post-production stage and is expected to hit screens in early 2013.

Meanwhile, Saranya’s Malayalam horror flick titled Chemistry has been dubbed in Tamil and is ready for release as Arundhathi Kottai. Actor Vinith has played an important role in the film.
