Star music composer SS Thaman has set up a new band named Thakkali (Tomato) with his close buddies and playback singers Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar and Naveen Madhav.

The band will be launched this summer and it is a nonfilm venture, which also will come out with albums in the future.

Thaman has become quite a busy musician in the south Indian film industry.

In Telugu, he recently delivered successive super-hits like Dookudu, Businessman, Bodyguard, Nippu and Love Failure.

His upcoming projects include Ishtam, Thadaiyara Thakka and Vallinam in Tamil besides a Ram Charan Tejstarrer in Telugu under the direction of VV Vinayak.

Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul are the heroines in this untitled project.
